NIJMA A disciplined professional with a powerful technique & personality. Nijma has devoted her life to dance. She is a spellbinding and gregarious performer whose passion for the dance amazes audiences everywhere.
As founder and artistic director of Anwaar Dance Company, Nijma is dedicated to bringing the rich heritage of Middle Eastern dance to the theatre as a living art form. Mesmerizing and graceful her dance goes beyond the borders and gains her recognition by the dance community.
You may have seen Nijma performing at some of the many local areas venues such as, Opas Greek Restaurant, Alexander’s the Great Greek, Mykanos Greek Restaurant, Al Basha, Marrakech Moroccan and Texas Renaissance Festival and these are just to name a few.
Nijma has focused her dance study and performance on the Raks Sharqi of Middle Eastern dance since 1991. Staying in constant training helps bring the most current teaching styles to her students. Her teaching style is both fun and energetic. She upholds the integrity and tradition as well as incorporating her own style. Nijma has studied from some of the most talented instructions and performers in the world today such as Jillina of California, Ragia Hassan from Egypt, Cassandra and Suhalia Salimpour. They have taught her style and grace and love for the dance.
Nijma is available for parties such as: Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, festivals, graduations or any special event.
